Freda & Michael ~ Glencoe engagement

A few weeks ago Mike and I took the train up to Scotland for a little getaway and to photograph Freda & Michael's engagement. I have always heard about the magnificent landscape of the highlands but have never been so I was pretty excited...

So on the Saturday morning, perhaps the sunniest day in the Scottish history the four of us met up in Loch Lomond and drove all the way up to Glencoe, stopping occasionally for some photos. We had such an awesome time exploring with these two and my god the landscape was just mind blowing. I'm so glad Freda suggested this and I can't wait to shoot their wedding in a couple's months time! Whooop.

Clare & Chris ~ Kenwood House, London engagement

Last Friday I headed to London to photograph Clare & Chris' engagement- I was given their address as they wanted some photos taken at their home. I knew their house was around Highgate, which is where I went to secondary school, but had no idea it was literally two doors down from my school. I hadn't been back since I finished school five years ago; as I walked pass the beautiful main entrance of the school I very nearly broke into tears. I stood still for a few minutes. The shadow of that little Chinese girl in her oversized green blazer and kilt down to her shins had never disappeared. This is the place where I learned to speak English, where I learned to paint, where I learned it's okay to eat lunch alone, where I picked up my first camera. And there I was ten years later, still small, but everything else has changed except I still take photos.

I had a wonderful session with Clare & Chris, we walked around Kenwood House (where part of Notting Hill was filmed!) and ended up in their favourite pub. Autumn just has the most incredible colours and I absolutely loved photographing these two lovebirds. Clare was Malaysian too and it's so lovely to meet someone from home!

On the way back I was listening to this song by Ed Sheeran. I reflected on high school, all the tough days & nights where sometimes I'd cry myself to sleep; and how that'd shaped me, and thought of what I just did for this couple. I felt so thankful.

We keep this love in this photograph
We made these memories for ourselves
Where our eyes are never closing
Our hearts were never broken
Times forever frozen still

Jane & Jin ~ London engagement

I met the cutest couple, Jane & Jin last week on the most beautiful day in London for their engagement shoot. The original plan was to shoot at Wilton's Music Hall & The Clink Museum (I had no idea what The Clink was), when we got there I realised it was a prison museum...we all laughed and agreed it was the strangest place one could come up with for an engagement shoot! But I had such a good time taking a stroll around that area with these guys, we even sneaked into Tate modern for some pretty cool photos.

Two more months till their wedding...!!! I'm so excited :))))

Hanh & Hang ~ London engagement

Happy Monday everybody! You're probably gonna hate me, but I'm eating breakfast and working in bed today after a rather busy and fun weekend of shooting :p

I want to share with you this engagement shoot that I did last week with this sweet couple, Hanh and Hang. Hanh is the blogger behind this lovely lifestyle blog, so I wasn't surprised when this stylish girl turned up looking super sweet in her pastel-coloured dress and her fiancé looking smart. We spent the afternoon wandering in the sun-bathed Dulwich Village- I love engagement shoots, they give me and my couple the freedom to work with different locations and more time, and most importantly to ease their nerves of being in front of the camera on their wedding day!

Thanks Hanh and Hang for such a great session, I'll see you on your wedding day...!! :))
