Jo & Tom ~ Merriscout, Cotswolds wedding

Following Jo & Tom’s engagement shoot that I posted over 2 months ago (I’m terrible at this blogging thing…), here is their awesome WEDDING! I had been really nervous about shooting this day as it was the first wedding of the year for me after taking the winter months off, but what a wedding it was! And as expected Jo & Tom made it really easy for me. It was a glorious spring day and Merriscourt provided the most stunning backdrop. My favourite parts of the day include the beautiful singing during the ceremony, everyone’s reaction to Ashley the magician’s tricks (he’s the best one I’ve seen!!!) and the moment Charlie the emotional guest won the speech sweepstake (she won £250!!!!). Also can we just take a moment to appreciate how good Jo & Tom look! I wish we could keep reliving this day over and over again.

*Huge thanks to my favourite Brazilian (my awesome and hilarious friend Alline) for second shooting this wedding for me!

Alice & Adam ~ West Sussex farm wedding

If you follow my blog you might remember this engagement shoot where I came home 4 hours later than intended. Well, those two wonderful humans got hitched at Alice's grandma's farm last September and it was all sorts of wonderful. There was no formal sit down meal but a hog roast instead, kegs of beer, farm games, a pizza van and an awesome band. It's on days like this when I think it's bananas that this is my job.

Dee & Manu ~ Soho Farmhouse wedding

Be prepared to drool over some of the most gorgeous colours, dresses and flowers!!! I had the honour of shooting Dee & Manu's Indian wedding last August at the insanely stunning Soho Farmhouse, and if I had to describe the wedding in a few words I would say it was the most beautiful chaos. The morning started off with the groom's procession, where family and guests from the groom's side marched/danced down to the Indian ceremony. It was literally an explosion of colours, drumbeats and dance moves and it kinda set the tone for the whole day; everybody including myself was on a constant high throughout the celebrations.

I'm currently crossing all my fingers and toes that I'll get to shoot another Indian wedding again soon, it's pretty addictive...

2017.

I know I probably say this every year but I don't think I've known any year that has gone as quickly as this one. This year is rather special because it marks ten years since I picked up my first digital SLR..and I love it as much as I ever did. I think if I could time travel to the past and tell my 16 year old self this is the journey that my little canon 400D was taking me on, my young self would have laughed in my face. Umm you mean making a living doing what I love the most...? I don't think so!!!

And of course none of this would happen without my couples. To say that I am grateful is a bit of an understatement, and thank you is not quite enough. But my vocabulary is limited so it will have to do for now. To all my wonderful couples, whether you're past, present or future; thank you, and thank you. You may not realise it but this isn't merely a job of mine, it's also where I learn to experience and celebrate life through your life...the amount of goodness, happiness and love that I've felt in every single wedding that I have shot cannot be put into words; I can only hope they bleed into my work.

Below are images of some my favourite moments from this year. As much as I love an epic sunset and the perfect creative shot, there is nothing quite like belly laughs, tears of joy and moments caught off guard.. Big love to you all, have a wonderful Christmas & New Years!!!
