Rebecca & Mark ~ Hackney Town Hall & The Raw Duck, London wedding

LOVE ME A CITY WEDDING. Rebecca & Mark had the most unique and chic wedding in London. They got hitched at Hackney Town Hall in the morning, had lunch at the rather awesome Raw Duck, and held an afterparty at their gorgeous London townhouse. They even managed to turn one of the rooms into a dance area with light up floor! I’m also obsessed with the florals at this wedding (check out the huge floral wreath!!!!!!), all done by The Flower Appreciation Society. All these without mentioning how delightful these two are and how much me and my partner Mike enjoyed getting to know them a little and shooting their big day!

(Click here to check out their wedding video done by Mike - it’s pretty sweet.)

Katie & Chris ~ The Party Field wedding, Lewes

Okay I’ve been absolutely terrible at this blogging thing. Things have been a little crazy in the last few months, we came back from travelling after taking 9 months off and I was moving house (twice in 2 months!)…but I’m all settled into my new flat now and I’m excited to be sharing some of the weddings that I’ve shot in the two months of the year when I’ve been working!

First up is Katie and Chris’ awesome marquee wedding at The Party Field. It was the first wedding that I shot since coming home from travelling and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect start. It was one of the warmest days of the year, I got to play with Connor the cat during bridal prep (I LOVE HIM SOOOOOO MUCH), got to witness this utterly lovely couple get hitched and last but not least got to run around a field that overlooks the stunning South Downs, taking photos and drinking cold elderflower cordial. ‘twas a good day.

2017.

I know I probably say this every year but I don't think I've known any year that has gone as quickly as this one. This year is rather special because it marks ten years since I picked up my first digital SLR..and I love it as much as I ever did. I think if I could time travel to the past and tell my 16 year old self this is the journey that my little canon 400D was taking me on, my young self would have laughed in my face. Umm you mean making a living doing what I love the most...? I don't think so!!!

And of course none of this would happen without my couples. To say that I am grateful is a bit of an understatement, and thank you is not quite enough. But my vocabulary is limited so it will have to do for now. To all my wonderful couples, whether you're past, present or future; thank you, and thank you. You may not realise it but this isn't merely a job of mine, it's also where I learn to experience and celebrate life through your life...the amount of goodness, happiness and love that I've felt in every single wedding that I have shot cannot be put into words; I can only hope they bleed into my work.

Below are images of some my favourite moments from this year. As much as I love an epic sunset and the perfect creative shot, there is nothing quite like belly laughs, tears of joy and moments caught off guard.. Big love to you all, have a wonderful Christmas & New Years!!!

Jess & Chris ~ Corsham Town Hall, Wiltshire wedding

I'm so grateful that my job brings me to places that I wouldn't otherwise discover and allows me to meet people that I wouldn't otherwise know. Corsham is the loveliest little English town that I have ever been to, and Jess and Chris are one of the sweetest couples. Wearing her 100 year old wedding dress Jess got married to Chris on a fine July afternoon.

I will always remember standing in the woods, where in the gentle evening light he held her face and they stared at each other and smiled in silence. Thank you for sharing these priceless moments with me.
