Alice & Dave ~ Grays Court, York wedding

Alice & Dave had the sweetest, most intimate wedding with their close friends & family at the stunning Grays Court Hotel in York last autumn. Alice is a graphic designer with pretty killer taste - she designed all the stationery herself, and she had Swallow & Damsons as florists, whose work I have admired for the longest time. Everything just came together so beautifully, not to mention how cute these guys look together! I'm pretty obsessed with the tones of this wedding and I don't think I'll ever get tired of shooting autumnal weddings ❤

2017.

I know I probably say this every year but I don't think I've known any year that has gone as quickly as this one. This year is rather special because it marks ten years since I picked up my first digital SLR..and I love it as much as I ever did. I think if I could time travel to the past and tell my 16 year old self this is the journey that my little canon 400D was taking me on, my young self would have laughed in my face. Umm you mean making a living doing what I love the most...? I don't think so!!!

And of course none of this would happen without my couples. To say that I am grateful is a bit of an understatement, and thank you is not quite enough. But my vocabulary is limited so it will have to do for now. To all my wonderful couples, whether you're past, present or future; thank you, and thank you. You may not realise it but this isn't merely a job of mine, it's also where I learn to experience and celebrate life through your life...the amount of goodness, happiness and love that I've felt in every single wedding that I have shot cannot be put into words; I can only hope they bleed into my work.

Below are images of some my favourite moments from this year. As much as I love an epic sunset and the perfect creative shot, there is nothing quite like belly laughs, tears of joy and moments caught off guard.. Big love to you all, have a wonderful Christmas & New Years!!!

2016.

Here is a little collection of images from this year that are not necessarily 'the best', but images that I hold dear and make me smile.

It's probably a little strange to say but I treasure these moments as much as my couples do...when I look back at every frame I remember how I felt at that very moment. Sometimes I have a headache, sometimes my heart is exploding with joy, sometimes I'm cold and tired; sometimes I fear that I'm losing the daylight, and a lot of the time I feel the intensity of my couples' love for each other and their friends and family... and it's a magical thing to experience.

I think there are very few occasions where you're able to see so many aspects of someone's life in a day, and a wedding is one of those rare events. I'm so thankful for all the couples that have welcomed me with open arms and hearts into their most important of days. Being vulnerable isn't easy; especially in front of a stranger, and because you're able to let down your guard I've learned to pour my heart out into creating these images.

To all the wonderful couples that I've photographed and friends that I've second shot for; thank you for all your kindness, trust, patience and encouragement. It's been quite an overwhelming journey.

And lastly, to my boyfriend Mike, the love of my life; thank you for keeping me curious, inspired and alive.

Jennifer & Kevin ~ Bodleian library & The Folly, Oxford Korean wedding

I was so excited to shoot Jennifer & Kevin's wedding ever since Jennifer told me that they were going to have a Korean ceremony after the civil part. It's my first Korean ceremony and I love seeing how people from different parts of the world do things differently, not to mention the beautifully rich and colourful costumes.

It did not disappoint in the slightest. Also...Jennifer and Kevin are the most adorable couple, they have been together for 15 years and the connection that they share with each other is pretty special. I'll let the photos do the talking!
